Error updating SCOM 2007 with R2

During SCOM 2007 update to SCOM 2007 R2, we got this following error (being not able to go on):

After checking, no MPack Cross-Platform had been installed (and no trace in the database). In the log file of the update, we found the cause of the error:

2010-09-07T14:56:18.1524668+02:00 Error: Unable To Connect to SDK To Retrieve MP: Error: The user xxx\Administrator does not have sufficient permission to perform the operation.

We had to connect with an account in the group OMAdmins to successfully complete this update. The day the errors will be explicit and precise, admins will be in heaven :p

Moral: read the prerequisites !
